A 35-year-old man has been arrested after reports of an attempted rape on an 11-year-old girl in a park in England.
The girl was on her way home from school last Friday afternoon between 2:30 pm and 2:50pm and as she made her way through Babbs Mill Park in Solihull, West Midlands, she was attacked.
There have been previous reports of similar incidents at that same spot. The 11-year-old girl was the third person since February to be attacked in Babbs Mill Park. The man fled from the scene and the girl was taken to hospital where she was later discharged.
Police said that they have taken a man into custody this morning after a media appeal. Police added that they have put extra patrols in the area and the girl is being supported by specially-trained officers. They added that they have taken several items for forensic testing and they are trying to work out if it’s connected to another “recent incident”.
In February, a woman was sexually assaulted at knifepoint at Babbs Mill while a woman in her 20s was attacked on June 6 while she ate her lunch.
